This means they are often the public face of the company and also manage relations with the press and other media. A communications officer can also function as a Press Officer, especially in large companies or public institutions such as ministries, political parties, or the government. In these roles, the press officer steps in during critical situations and press conferences to convey information from other parts of the organisation. It's important to align expectations with other parts of the company or department.
