A sales manager works with sales in a company, usually to other businesses. Sales managers are found in most companies involved in sales, either through the resale of raw materials or the sale of products to a subcontractor who deals with the end user.
The sales manager is responsible for a company's sales and is usually part of the company's top management. This means that the sales manager can be involved in making important decisions for the company along with other managers, a director, and possibly a board of directors. In some companies, the sales manager is considered a middle manager, and in this case, they are only responsible for their department and do not make decisions on behalf of the entire company. A sales manager must ensure that the company sells products or raw materials and help the company grow and achieve its set goals. Working as a sales manager in a larger company often involves travelling, extensive driving, and many meetings. It is a job that requires high-level communication skills and the ability to negotiate with suppliers or potential customers. Additionally, it is important to have a large network with good relationships to understand the market and the industry and find new potential customers.
Sales managers are found in many different companies involved in sales. This can include production companies that sell products to wholesale businesses or directly to retail companies or shops. There is usually a sales manager in all larger companies that engage in sales in one way or another.
