There are several different types of consultants. Some may be permanently attached to a company, handling tasks daily that involve bringing new knowledge and additional competencies to the company. Others may be associated with a firm that provides consulting services to other businesses.
A consultant working with businesses can also be called a business consultant or a business advisor. This varies greatly from company to company. One might also be referred to or employed under the title of Intelligence Officer or Business Manager. There are also consultants who have specialized in a specific area and are experts in providing advice on that topic. This can include an consultant, an IT consultant, or a management consultant.
An consultant works with the personnel and employees within a company. Stands for Human Resources, and the consultant often works with management or development. As an consultant, one deals with various aspects of the company's employees. This can include personnel processes such as hiring or dismissals, labor law and employee rights, negotiations with unions, salary agreements, and other areas concerning employee relations and the labor market, and the company's or organization's connection to it. Typically, the consultant provides advice to management, often regarding the recruitment of new employees or during periods of layoffs.
